THE NH RETIRED MEN’S ASSOCIATION MEETING OF JUNE 20th TO FEATURE RELAY NH AND NH-TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING DISABILITIES.
The Relay NH Service and the NH Telecommunications Equipment Assistance Program (NH-TEAP) will be presented at the NH RMA June 20th meeting. Both programs assist individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, speech-disabled, and late-deafened as well as individuals with other disabilities to access telephone services through specialized devices including CapTel phones. An extensive and complete range of services from highly qualified individuals as well as high technology telephone systems will be presented and demonstrated. Services are either no cost or at very low cost to qualified individuals. These services are available throughout the state of New Hampshire.
Lindsey Phelan is the Relay NH and CapTel Outreach Specialist and has been with Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Inc. for nearly two years. Lindsey obtained her BFA degree in Visual Media from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. She is a freelance photographer and graphic designer as well as an advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community throughout New Hampshire. Lindsey is also passionate about ASL, Deaf Culture, the outdoors & the Arts.
Brianna Cameron is the NH Telecommunications Equipment Assistance Program (NH-TEAP) coordinator and has been in this position for nearly three years working for the non-profit Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (NDHHS) located in Concord, NH who is the contractor for the Governor’s Commission on Disability (GCD), the administrator of NH-TEAP. She is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and has an extensive knowledge of specialized/adaptive telephone equipment to assist individuals with various disabilities.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
After almost 15 years of operation; this will be the final meeting of the RMA monthly presentations. It is due to a lack of attendance and interest in finding new ideas. The cribbage group and camera club are not affected by this action. If there are any individuals interested in revitalizing the Association, they should contact Tom Arnold.
NOTE NEW MEETING PLACE AND TIME
The association meets monthly with a social hour and refreshments at 1 p.m. followed by the guest speaker from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Meetings are held at the Jutras American Legion Post #43 at 56 Boutwell St. just off of Kelley Street in Manchester, NH. It is free of charge and open to all interested men. Should there be a storm on our meeting day, it will be cancelled if the local Mnachester schools are also cancelled so check your news source for closings.
