NEW HAMPSHIRE RETIRED MEN'S ASSOCIATION

The New Hampshire Retired Men's Association is a group of senior men who enjoy meeting regularly in Manchester NH to socialize over ccoffee and listen to a speaker with a topic of general interest. The organization is very informal. We have no officers or bylaws and we have no dues or fees.

Our RMA was formed within the Community Health Services Department of Catholic Medical Center and specifically as part of Prime Time which offered programs to seniors. At a meeting of staff and volunteers in late 2003 , the observation was made that almost all of the existing programs attracted women only - there was nothing that appealed to men. A volunteer made a suggestion and the RMA was born.

The first meeting took place in Februrary 2004 and we have been meeting every month since then. Our speakers cover a wide range of interest. We've heard a WWII Navy Pilot talk of his experiences, a Beekeeper, an assistant NH Attorney General, an FBI Agent, Mayors, and National Guard Generals. The list is quite eclectic. Go to the "Previous Speakers" link on the home page to get an idea of whom we have listened to.

Although we do not have officers we do have conscientious volunteers who put everything together; recruiting speakers, contacting various news medias, making coffee, buying donuts, keeping the attendees list, sending out email meeting reminders, etc. We do ask for voluntary contributions for the coffee which helps cover our few expenses.

So if this sounds like something in which you would be interested come and join us. We meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 10:30 A.M., have a coffee hour then about 11:30 A.M. we introduce the speaker and it's promptly over at 12:30 P.M. For directions check the "Location" link on the home page.
