MANCHESTER - Richard L. Fortin, 76, of Manchester, passed away Nov. 7, 2013 at his home after a sudden illness.

He was born in Manchester on Sept. 11, 1937, to Lucien and Auxilia (Bourget) Fortin. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Air Force and lived in Manchester for most of his life.

Richard worked as a dispatcher for the Manchester Transit Authority and CarePlus Ambulance Service. He also was a docent at the Aviation Museum of N.H.

He was very interested in genealogy and was a member of the ACA Genealogical Society, the Association Canado-Americaine, the New England Moxie Congress and he was a member of the Retired Men's Association where he used his extensive knowledge of Manchester to find us a guest speaker each month.

The family includes many cousins, including Pauline Gagne of Manchester, Robert Simard Sr. and his wife, Simone, of Londonderry, and Andre Simard of Colorado; and a close friend, the Rev. Roland Cote of Manchester.

. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford.
