No one has actually seen dark as it is neutralized by light. However we know that it exists
as an entity because we can see the edges of the hole that light cuts
through it. My theory is that dark is a negative material that is in a
different dimension. It is the plasma in which all the bodies of stars, planets,
asteroids, etc float about in. Most darkness is the same density hence the speed of light remains constant, but
there are areas of denser darkness; ie black holes where dark is thicker than pea soup.
It is in these areas where the speed of light slows down, not because of extreme
gravity but simply because the dark is thicker. On the lighter side though,
where there is no darkness light travels faster.
